Description
Maintenance and repair of public lighting and electrical installations of municipal buildings, as well as installation of extraordinary lighting during festive times
In addition, Valencia since 2018 has initiated the execution of the global energy efficiency improvement project for exterior lighting, with the replacement of more than 3,223 luminaires distributed throughout all the northern districts of the city.

The modernization of the entire lighting installation is a priority for the government of Joan Ribó, since the city was considered one of the cities with the greatest light pollution, and the action will mean significant economic savings for municipal coffers.

The action consists of replacing the luminaires of the road model with mostly warm LED lights and metal halides of ceramic burners in high-performance luminaires, which are more efficient both in terms of consumption and light power and significantly reduce the pollution that The city suffers. The project involves a total investment of 1,450,544.24 euros and represents a saving of 176,302.41 euros per year and 1,364,082.50 kWh.

The project is structured around two axes: first, the luminaires of road types will change (the most common model on roads, which are considered obsolete) and the lights that are high pressure sodium vapor (VSAP) of 400, 250 and 150 W. The new luminaires will be of LED light source, mostly 75 W.

The second axis will allow the purchase of metal halide lights with a ceramic burner for the renovation of high-performance road luminaires with existing discharge light. It is expected to acquire 172 sets of lights and equipment and, given its good performance and high performance and quality, the lights and equipment of 150 W VSAP will be replaced by others with lower consumption, better performance and better color reproduction, which will mean lower consumption and a better perception of light, since they provide a warmer and more comfortable light.
