On Wednesday, the final award of the public lighting and traffic lights services was published on the City Council's website, after one of the companies participating in the contest had recourse to the first award. The workers, after a strike, were guaranteed their jobs.
This Wednesday, the final award of the integral and energetic management service for urban facilities has been published, which includes public lighting, traffic lights or tunnel lighting, for 785 million euros. Two lots will be managed by the temporary union of companies Luz Madrid, formed by the five companies that previously managed the service, and the third by FCC and Indra.

The award follows the resolution of the appeal filed by one of the participating companies, Acisa, in the Administrative Court of Public Procurement of the Community of Madrid, as explained by the CCOO spokesperson in the sector Dionisio del Toro, who has detailed that this court referred to the City Council the resolution of the problem. Acisa obtained more points in the contest, but the City Council awarded two lots to the UTE, which it challenged, claiming that Acisa did not meet certain requirements.

Once the resource has been resolved, the lighting award has been published on Wednesday. So far the workers have continued working without changes and this week will begin meetings to accommodate the new contract, which although it has fallen on the same five companies, this time, their participation in Luz Madrid are different.

The workers maintained a strike for almost a week, which they called off after learning that the City was going to award Luz Madrid, who had guaranteed their jobs, the service. Acisa also assured that it was committed to maintaining the jobs and working conditions of the workforce.
