The City of this Galician town has made lighting in its streets a tourist claim that is generating employment and wealth, already having numerous reservations of hotel beds this year to contemplate the light show that was so successful last year and that these Christmas is expected to be overcome by incorporating attractive news for vigueses and visitors. In the Cadiz capital, the Cádiz open mall association, chaired by Manuel Queiruga, is already working since last July on the own programming that this entity will organize for the next Christmas although they are waiting for the start of the new political course to establish lines of collaboration with the City of Cádiz.

Queiruga ensures that Christmas lighting in the streets and squares of the city, not only in the historic center but also in the area of the Outside the Walls, will be the priority of this group and the first thing they will put on the table when they meet with the team leaders of government. From Cádiz Centro it will be proposed that the lighting, after the failure of last year, can be placed and ready to inaugurate around the celebration of 'Black Friday', that is, the last week of November. The president of Cádiz Centro confirms that this Date so marked on the calendar at the commercial level is «fundamental for us because it has been established in the city and saves the month of November every year.

In addition, it is no longer just the last Friday of that month since many shops start with discounts up to a week before ». Therefore, they consider that - with good planning - it is possible that everything is prepared to be able to install the lighting with enough time for it to open on 'Black Friday'. Queiruga, aware of the limited resources available to the City Council Cadiz, notes that "we know that we can not compete with cities like Seville, Malaga or Vigo but it would be very good for the city that the lighting could be ready at least one month before the Christmas holidays officially begin."
